iPhone 4S sales exceed one million in 24 Hours

Apple has just recently made a statement announcing that they have had their best iPhone pre-order launch ever, selling more than one million units of the new iPhone 4S within the first 24 hours. That is roughly 694 iPhone pre-orders per minute and almost 12 pre-orders every second! This beats last years IPhone 4 launch by 400,000 pre-orders in the first day! Apple had also mention that this did not only exceed the sales for any Apple smartphone, but any apple product ever.

The iPhone 4S was announced last Tuesday, the day before Apple co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs passed away from pancreatic cancer. Pre-orders went live that Friday.

Even though the many people were disappointed when apple announced the IPhone 4s instead of the Iphone 5, the additional speed boosts and the addition of Siri personal assistant was just enough to reel in a large number of consumers, over one million of them so far.

Although, some Iphone 4s buyers are having getting some bad news with a wait time now of “one to two weeks” after release. You’ll also obviously be able to head over to one of Apple’s 245 stores worldwide to pick up the new iPhone, but still be prepared to wait, since lines have already begun forming outside some stores.

According to Reuters, Wall Street analysts are expecting Apple to sell around 27 million to 28 million iPhones in Q4.

The iPhone 4S hits store shelves at 8am on October 14th for AT&T, Verizon and for the first time, Sprint
